David S Posted July 7, 2005 Posted July 7, 2005 I've had this bar for a number of years and it defys explanation. Opioions are that it is a bogus, or parts bar. If you look close it looks period.Comments and opinions always appreciated.
landsknechte Posted July 7, 2005 Posted July 7, 2005 Ignoring completely what the ribbons are, I think it's safe to say that the devices were added after the fact. I can't recall seeing any legit bars (although I'm sure there probably are some - especially if a decoration changed, and the change could be reflected by just slapping on a new device) where the prongs were poked through the backing like this.--Chris
CRBeery Posted July 7, 2005 Posted July 7, 2005 I am with Chris - devices are wrong. Not only how they are attached but also where. I would also say parts bar as the ribbon order is wrong. I will admit that I do not know what they all are.
Stogieman Posted July 8, 2005 Posted July 8, 2005 Hi David, I believe you have an utterly complete fantasy bar, made long ago. BUT! The devices are probably worth what you paid for it...... especially the Saxon Weltkrieg bar (for woman) which makes exactly TWO real ones I've seen!

David S Posted July 8, 2005 Author Posted July 8, 2005 It cost me all of $10, so no big deal. This is my second large Imperial ribbon bar, I like it because of the Siam and China ribbons. Thanks for the comments.
Stogieman Posted July 8, 2005 Posted July 8, 2005 Hi David, it is a big deal though. The crowns are impossible to find and the Saxon spange gives that word a whole new meaning! I would have cheerfully dropped a C-Note just to get that spange!
