Hello could you help, I have just received three ORS,s I have tried to aproximatley date them, but I would like your imput please

The numbers are 2796221, 2635203, 2639452 I get the last two late 45-46 and the first 48-9 is there a data bank of numbers to dates so I can be more precise to download? Pete

That is a very useful thread that Dave has pointed you to, but we should always remember that Soviet awards were not distributed in strict numerical order. There is much "variability" (to be polite) in how these things were given out. It is more art than science to attribute any given number to a specific time period. Absent documentation or research, you'll never be sure on a date.

And there's of course a difference between production date and issue date...

That's what that list is for-- REAL dates on specific awards.

You've got two war's end Red Stars and what is probably a long service one from 1947-48 or a late catchup wartime.
