Jacques Posted January 16, 2007 Posted January 16, 2007 This one is interesting. I don't really know if he is a lufwaffe member. Which is interesting is that the photo was taken after the return from Spain because he is wearing the spanish cross, but he is also wearing the hat. If you have a closer look you will also see that he has the embroidered staff badge close to his spanish cross.
Guest Rick Research Posted January 16, 2007 Posted January 16, 2007 And the "1936-39" campaign medal-- didn't most German recipients NOT get that until after the world war had started????
Jacques Posted January 17, 2007 Author Posted January 17, 2007 Hi,The last contingent was awarded it in Spain. Fort the others I don't know. I guess that all the document were sent later, after the return to Germany.
Jacques Posted January 19, 2007 Author Posted January 19, 2007 This one was taken just before or after the Berlin parade on June 6th, 1939
leigh kitchen Posted January 19, 2007 Posted January 19, 2007 (edited) I've just bought my first Condor Legion wehrpas:Oberwachtmeister Anton G?dda,Spanish Cross in Silver, Medala de la campana , cruz roja , KvK II & another award I can't read. And for some reason I can't post more photos re. units & awards. I'll try later. Edited January 19, 2007 by leigh kitchen
Jacques Posted May 4, 2007 Author Posted May 4, 2007 It seems that the picture was taken just before the Berlin parade on May 6th, 1939 .
Scott Posted May 4, 2007 Posted May 4, 2007 (edited) Great photos! Perhaps it's the lighting, but the officer marching in post #6 seems to be wearing the ribbon of the White war service cross and the Spanish Cross with swords. I would have thought the white cross would have earned a Spanish Cross without swords?Scott Edited May 4, 2007 by Scott
Jacques Posted May 4, 2007 Author Posted May 4, 2007 On post "6" he is not wearing the white service cross but the "Medalla militar".Concerning the white cross, I can't affirm there is direct relations between this decoration and the swords. I saw grouping where the recipient received either the silver or gold cross with swords and the "Cruz blanca del merito militar".jacquesGreat photos!
