gregM Posted February 7, 2007 Posted February 7, 2007 (edited) What about the spange? Now thats a question -------There seems to be a debate as to whether these little beauties are good or not.Officially there were supposed to be 969 of these awarded yet I know severalmembers (includeing myself) that own one and they can be found on ebayfairly frequently. So did they make WAY more then they awarded or are therea boat load of fakes floating around?????????I personally hope that some turn out to be good but I know that at least oneof our more knowledgable members believes them to be bad and he has spentalot of time and effort studying them. Tim Tezer Posted February 7, 2007 Posted February 7, 2007 So what does a good one look like then?If you ask five different collectors that question, you'll get five different answers. Since there are so many of them around, it's reasonable to assume that some of them are fakes. But there is no concensus on which ones are correct and which ones are fake. This is one case where the fakers have actually succeeded in clouding the matter so completely that an absolute certainty may be impossible to arrive at. My personal take on it is that there is one type I see more commonly than any other type, and I would avoid it.Tim
ksg Posted February 15, 2007 Author Posted February 15, 2007 The big problem whit these things are; if you don?t have one known authentic piece to compare whit, the next best thing you can do is to study pictures. If it?s 100 % identical to the pictures you can find in the best books available, your conclusion is, this must be an authentic piece.I hope this one is!!Kjell
