Paul R Posted February 14, 2007 Posted February 14, 2007 I actually think that they are quite serious! If it were not for the fact that someone could be badly ripped off, I would find it all quite amusing!

If it were not for the fact that someone could be badly ripped off, I would find it all quite amusing! So I supose I might just get away with selling "Original Bottled Mini Vampires from Transylvania." at 50 bucks a pop, Postage & packing extra Kevin up to his A@?% in Garlic

Paul R Posted February 14, 2007 Posted February 14, 2007 So I supose I might just get away with selling "Original Bottled Mini Vampires from Transylvania." at 50 bucks a pop, Postage & packing extra I bet you would be able to sell enough to purchase the shield!

The only shield I would like would be the original Gold "KRIM" shield given to Marshal Antonescu, supposedly 6 of them are floating around somewhere Kevin Edited February 14, 2007 by Kev in Deva
Kev in Deva Posted February 14, 2007 Author Posted February 14, 2007 (edited) Is this true?Is what True? The Warsaw Shield? The Roman Iffy River Water? The Bottled Mini Vampires?Or the common Gold "KRIM" shield?By the way I believe Field Marshal Erich von Manstein had his "Krim" shields made in Gold too Kevin in Deva Edited February 14, 2007 by Kev in Deva
Kev in Deva Posted February 14, 2007 Author Posted February 14, 2007 The existence of Gold Krim Shields. Paul.Hallo Paul, page 23 of "THE KRIM SHIELD" by Our very own member Sascha Weber, shows a picture of General Field Marshal Erich von Manstein, visiting a wounded soldier in a military hospital and states "The golden Krim Shield is good to see."As I understand it these were a private purchase by the Field-Marshal and he presented a set to the Romanian Military leader Antonescu.Kevin in Deva
Robin Lumsden Posted September 28, 2012 Posted September 28, 2012 Souval copy from the early 1960s ................. based on the original 1944-5 design drawings.
Robin Lumsden Posted September 28, 2012 Posted September 28, 2012 They put a pin on the reverse, for some unknown reason. Nevertheless, these old Souval copies are the nearest things we will ever get to what the real item would have looked like .................. if it had made it into production.
Robin Lumsden Posted September 28, 2012 Posted September 28, 2012 It may actually have been awarded 'on paper' .................
Robin Lumsden Posted September 28, 2012 Posted September 28, 2012 Also interesting ..................
Robin Lumsden Posted September 28, 2012 Posted September 28, 2012 The institution order ................ so this was no 'fantasy' shield. It just never made it into production before the end of the war.
Robin Lumsden Posted September 28, 2012 Posted September 28, 2012 The original (1944-5) design drawing, above all the later versions ...........................
Paul R Posted September 29, 2012 Posted September 29, 2012 Very cool. It is great to see period documentation of this award.
Robin Lumsden Posted September 29, 2012 Posted September 29, 2012 Closer view of the approved design drawing, and an alternative proposal.
Paul R Posted October 1, 2012 Posted October 1, 2012 Thanks Robin. Was there an official Bundeswehr 57 award for this?
Robin Lumsden Posted October 1, 2012 Posted October 1, 2012 (edited) Hello Paul. I've never seen an 'official' 1957 Warsaw Shield. Probably because it was never actually awarded, other than (possibly) on paper !!!! :cheeky: Edited October 1, 2012 by Robin Lumsden
Paul R Posted October 4, 2012 Posted October 4, 2012 Were there not paper only awards(where there were plans to create a badge) that were actually produced as 57 awards?
