The only shield I would like would be the original Gold "KRIM" shield given to Marshal Antonescu, supposedly 6 of them are floating around somewhere Kevin Edited February 14, 2007 by Kev in Deva

Kev in Deva
The existence of Gold Krim Shields. Paul.Hallo Paul, page 23 of "THE KRIM SHIELD" by Our very own member Sascha Weber, shows a picture of General Field Marshal Erich von Manstein, visiting a wounded soldier in a military hospital and states "The golden Krim Shield is good to see."As I understand it these were a private purchase by the Field-Marshal and he presented a set to the Romanian Military leader Antonescu.Kevin in Deva

Robin Lumsden
Souval copy from the early 1960s ................. based on the original 1944-5 design drawings.
Robin Lumsden
They put a pin on the reverse, for some unknown reason. Nevertheless, these old Souval copies are the nearest things we will ever get to what the real item would have looked like .................. if it had made it into production. Robin Lumsden
It may actually have been awarded 'on paper' .................

Robin Lumsden
The institution order ................ so this was no 'fantasy' shield. It just never made it into production before the end of the war.
Robin Lumsden
The original (1944-5) design drawing, above all the later versions ...........................

Robin Lumsden
Hello Paul. I've never seen an 'official' 1957 Warsaw Shield. Probably because it was never actually awarded, other than (possibly) on paper !!!! :cheeky: Edited October 1, 2012 by Robin Lumsden
Paul R
Were there not paper only awards(where there were plans to create a badge) that were actually produced as 57 awards?
