Does anyone own any [rare] photos or Award Documents to the Flieger-Erinnerungsabzeichen. I've only seen one elsewhere, but I wonder if they are lurking in the collector's shadows!

Hi Mark,

The only one I have seen is in Identifying Authentic German WWII Military Items (Collector's Guide Volume III) by Robert McCarthy (1981).

On pages 22-23 Mr. McCarthy shows two versions of the badge, an original case and an award document dated 1. November 1943.

Forget it Jody,

The Doc would have to be increased in size so much that the quality would go to crap. Docs for these badges are "rare as hen's teeth".

Good question. The Retired Pilot Badges are scarce. The award docs are even more scarce. It seems similar to the Condor Legion Tank badge. There are few original examples and not much period material to go on. The docs for the same..... how many do we know of? 2 or 3!
