Paul C
I have just return from the SOS in Louisville, KY. There was not much in the way of Imperial medal or ribbon bars. I did manage to pick up this 11 place Bayern ribbon bar. My best guess is that it is to a civilian servant in the Bayern army. It is very interesting to see the SWA ribbon on a Bayern bar. As best as I can determine the ribbon are:1. 1914 EK22. bayern MMO or MVO w/o swords3. Red Cross4. Hindenburg w/swords5. SWA6. Bayern Long Service for 40, 35 or 25 years7. Third Reich Long Service - Gold or Silver clasp8.? (long service)9.? (long service) it looks gray but I think it should be blue10.Bayern Jubilee 11.Kronprinz Rupprecht Medal 1925-33 or Abzeichen der Ordensbeamten (nr. 343 in Nimmergut ribbon book)Any comments are appreciated. webr55
Very nice! I would think #8 is a faded Red Cross/Volkspflege, and #9 looks like it could be a faded Bavarian Voluntary War Aid Cross. Of course, red cross awards do not necessarily indicate a doctor, but in this case, with the accumulation of several ones - maybe a reserve doctor? Guest Rick Research
Very nice indeed! After the 3rd Reich civil service 25 I agree-- that is a 1922+ Red Cross/Volkspflege Decoration, then the Bavarian Volunteer Care of the Sick, military Jubilee and the Rupprecht Medal in Bronze for die-hard royalists.Extremely nice and absolutely no way to tell from this whether an extraordinarily well decorated NCO or an officer. landsknechte
Very nice find!! Can you poke and prod carefully on the back side of #8 and determine if the caramel colored front turns into a red where it's buried underneath the backing? Paul C
Acutally nr. 8 still looks rather orange underneath the backing.

Perhaps faded as a result of unstable dyes (think how often you see that same red shift on the Czech Flower Wars ribbon), more than light.
