Chris Boonzaier Posted March 4, 2007 Posted March 4, 2007 The 1st Bavarian Inf Regt seems to have 2 Schochs commanding it.Gustav Ritter von Schoch, then 2 commanders later Emil Schoch... Does anyone have an idea if they were related?ThanksChris
Dave Danner Posted March 4, 2007 Posted March 4, 2007 What about Albert and Karl? They were all born within 5 years of each other: Gustav Ritter von Schoch - 1858Albert Ritter von Schoch - 1860Emil Schoch - 1862Karl Schoch - 1863 ("Ritter von Schoch" from 1.2.1915)Gustav and Albert were prewar knights of the Merit Order of the Bavarian Crown, and Albert also received the MMJO in August 1918 (albeit for actions in February 1916). Karl received the MMJO in September 1914 for actions in August, and, as noted above, his patent of nobility the following February.
Glenn J Posted March 4, 2007 Posted March 4, 2007 It seems likely that all four were brothers. All are shown as being protestant and being the son of an Oberst i.G. The two wartime Knights are definitley brothers being the sons of Oberst i.G. Karl Schoch and Maria n?e Heymann.RegardsGlenn

Chip Posted March 4, 2007 Posted March 4, 2007 I have an EKII document from the 3.bayr.I.D., which was signed by Karl von Schoch in January of 1918 as divisional commander.Chip
