Bob Lyons Posted March 5, 2007 Posted March 5, 2007 (edited) How about one that went across to the other side, this was a recent pick up by a local collector who picked it up from one of the battlefield relic sites that offer ground dug items from Russia, I think it is a bit out of the ordinary, and as for the cost, couldn't see some one ruining a good Luftwaffe buckle to make this up, so a good chance it is correct, a standard Luftwaffe Other Ranks buckle with the addition of a star so a Russian soldier could wear it.Reverse side first... lach470 Posted March 5, 2007 Posted March 5, 2007 Interesting for sure! I've seen many of these buckles faked....but they often have super good condition stars attached. This one has some honest wear to it! Looks like it should! Nice! I hope to eventually be able to add one like this to my collection!Cheers!Rob
Bob Lyons Posted March 6, 2007 Author Posted March 6, 2007 Me again Rob,Thanks for the comments, yes the star has been on it for an awful long time, I think it is correct for the period.Bob
VonBierStein Posted October 30, 2007 Posted October 30, 2007 Looks worn enough and rough enough to be original. Nice find.
