Nick Posted March 16, 2007 Posted March 16, 2007 Membership badge for the Central Association of German Horse Examination and Breeding (if my translation is correct). Shame about the damage to the enamel.
Scowen Posted March 16, 2007 Posted March 16, 2007 Nice badge Nick, as you say, shame about the chip.Interesting "N" mark on the reverse, is it a scratch or an actual mark?CheersDon
Nick Posted March 16, 2007 Author Posted March 16, 2007 The slanted N looks like it has been etched into the badge. I bought it without seeing it, (but knowing there was a chip), just a little bigger than I was hoping Still it wasn't too expensive.
BURGERHAUS Posted March 16, 2007 Posted March 16, 2007 Gents I have one of these as well but I have to dig it out. If I recollect correctly mine has a difernt maker. I will post tommorow as I have snow to remove now outside. Robert
Ulsterman Posted March 17, 2007 Posted March 17, 2007 These are still made and worn today. it might be more correct to say the "German Bloodstock Association".
Nick Posted March 17, 2007 Author Posted March 17, 2007 German Bloodstock AssociationYes I was looking for a better translation and that hits it on the head
Ulsterman Posted March 17, 2007 Posted March 17, 2007 Yes I was looking for a better translation and that hits it on the head Next time you are at Newmarket in May-look for these on lapels.
Gerd Becker Posted March 17, 2007 Posted March 17, 2007 Can someone explain to me, why an "R" is displayed on the badge? That doesn?t make sense together with the name of the badge, does it?
