    Hello All,

Here are a couple more Imperial German Medals I have on approval. I have been told these two medal come from the Franco-Prussian War period. The medal on the right is marked in its edge with AUS EROBERTEM GESCHUETZ, any idea what this means? Are these copies or the real deal? Are the ribbons on these correct?

If they are SILK and not modern replacements, the lefthand one has its correct ribbon. That is for Prussian suppresssion of the 1848/49 democratic uprising in Hohenzollern.

"From Captured Guns" indicates an original combatant 1870/71 campaign medal, but that's the wrong ribbon. The 1870/71 ribbon was later re-used for the WW1 Hindenburg croiss. What you have there is the generic most-awards ribbon of Oldenburg.

the guys are right of course about the 1870-71 ribbon any piece of Hindenberg Cross Ribbon for Combatant will do for the 1870-71 Franco-Prussian war medal, with over 6 and half million Crosses out there should be a doodle to pick up a nice piece. :o errr. . . . ribbon that is :P

And feel free to post more pictures here on this thread of any others you might want checked out :D
