Ulsterman
The perfect badge for me-obscure, well made, unusual. At first Rick thought it might be a master baker's badge-but lo, it turns out this little bauble, well enameled, is for the Grain Ministry and for a "Distinguished Foreman" or some such title. Tis a neat little piece and cheap too. Any one know how and when it was awarded?I like these old labour awards. Perhaps whomever got it also got a bonus, like a t.v. set or something. Christian Zulus
Dear Ulsterman, nice badge with perfect enamel .Have never seen it before. Is it possible to show the r.v. ?Best regards Christian
Ulsterman
No, I am sorry. There is a screw pin 8mm long at the top that would place the badge too far away from the scanner. But the reverse is blank-no #s, just patinaed bronze.
JimZ
Hi Ulsterman,Do you reckon its that old? Probably 70s or something I'd guess ...... but can never say to have seen anything like that!Jim
Ulsterman
I am guessing by the patina. Also, later badges, like the socialist competition ones-which had real status, were made of that cheap plastic alloy stuff-but who knows?
Guest Rick Research
USSR Ministry of Grain Production Honored Foreman.I was standing right there so got to paw it. Remarkably good, Order grade enamel, and a HEAVY brass type solid badge. I'd guess 1960s maybe 1970s based on the quality, which is far beyond any of the usual annual production drive national labor campaign pins.
