German prisioners

I have just received this postcard wich ias it reads is a "Document of the photographic section of the French Army" and shows a group of prisioners guarded during a stop by French soldiers. The date on the stamp seal is only partially clear. Only the day and month are readable 2-10. Is it possible to know more from the uniforms?

In the back it reads: Raymond Suire R.E.C.P.2 / 94 and under it S.C.P.I. 209.

A very interesting photograph in deed. I like specially the idea of the portrait in the table.

I am interested in knowing something more about my postcard. Wonder if it is possible to know where was it take. Souns like a very common scene but maybe one of the uniform experts could could share some details.

Between my eyes and the small size of the figures in the PC it is hard to study them carefully. I see no helmets, so we can probably assume that it was taken in the first half of the war, before mid-1916.

Close-up scans of the German and French soldiers might allow a better determination.

Also, some expert on French postal matters might be able to suggest a range of dates from the postage stamp. However, that would be the date of mailing, which could be much later than when the photo was taken.

Anything on the reverse?

Sorry, I forgot to send the back of the card. The 3 cards I got together - my last 3 posts in my colection section - were addressed to Mr. Jos? Salonas at Independencia 344 in Barcelona. The inscriptioin under the person sending the card, Raymond Suire might help.

Everything seems to say early in the war, 1914, 1915. However, you can't see the Germans at all well, and the French troops could be Territorials and have older men, equipment, and uniforms. Scond or third-rate troops were usuallu assigned to escort and guard POWs.

Odd that a PC, probably German, is sent by a person writing in French to a woman living in La Havre. Was he a prisoner?
