BURGERHAUS Posted December 17, 2017 Posted December 17, 2017 This one appears to have a lot more brown (earth) enameling on it than the other makers. When time permits I plan on lining all the makers up for comparison.
--dj--Joe Posted December 17, 2017 Posted December 17, 2017 Robert, I look forward to your comparison line up. --dj--Joe
BURGERHAUS Posted December 31, 2017 Posted December 31, 2017 (edited) Gents Ive finally found a little inside time to scan these for comparison purposes. Here they are........ From left to right of course... Seiboth,Mayer,Poellath, and Deumer And the reverse of course Same sequence of makers. Good health and fortune to all in 2018! Robert The darkness of the Seiboth is in the enamel work as it has no real surface substance that would cause the enhanced brown coloration. So I am thinking a primitive earthtone for the organization. But I digress. We can draw our own conclusions.......... Edited December 31, 2017 by BURGERHAUS
Scowen Posted December 31, 2017 Author Posted December 31, 2017 A nice comparison Robert.. Have you noticed the similarity between the letter S in Reichsbund on the Seiboth piece & the anniversary pieces? Happy New Year to you & all the other members of GMIC. Don
--dj--Joe Posted December 31, 2017 Posted December 31, 2017 (edited) Robert, thank you. Interesting how some went to the extra effort to lock the pin in place. Happy new Year Don, Robert and all. --dj--Joe I also notice on the Seiboth adler the outer wings, the short line ends squared off rather than angled like the others. Nuances. BURGERHAUS Posted December 31, 2017 Posted December 31, 2017 (edited) No I didn't notice either of those differences on either of those pieces. Now I have to go back under my bed and get them out and look although I believe I posted an anniversary here many moons ago. I'll look now. Don I just looked I see that. You two are sharp as tacks Edited December 31, 2017 by BURGERHAUS
BURGERHAUS Posted January 1, 2018 Posted January 1, 2018 Alas I now have something else to search for this year.....Ferd. Wagner. I find I have two Poellath open to trade.
BURGERHAUS Posted January 20, 2018 Posted January 20, 2018 Wish me luck. A Wagner is on its way. I need to get out of my sleepwear and go out to the mailbox in an hour or so.
--dj--Joe Posted January 23, 2018 Posted January 23, 2018 very nice. That's all the known makers? --dj--Joe
BURGERHAUS Posted January 24, 2018 Posted January 24, 2018 I believe so Joe. Except for Frank&Reif which the jury is still out on. At least until now anyway.
Scowen Posted January 24, 2018 Author Posted January 24, 2018 Very nice Robert. Joe, The F&R badges are discussed on page 1 of this thread.... Don
Scowen Posted April 28, 2018 Author Posted April 28, 2018 I picked a membership book for these up for a couple of Euros the other week. I had only ever seen single sheet member cards before (see post #38) so decide to break my rule of only buying Tirol items to get it. The bright light of the scanner has burnt out the colour of the cover which is green. There are 16 pages containing rules & regulations etc. Here are a couple of examples. Cheers Don
BURGERHAUS Posted April 28, 2018 Posted April 28, 2018 Great find Don. Maybe someday I will be able to get my hands on one of those. Well done.
BURGERHAUS Posted April 28, 2018 Posted April 28, 2018 Hard to believe this thread is 12 years old!!! And we have yet to cover all the bases. Any photos in wear out there?
BURGERHAUS Posted April 28, 2018 Posted April 28, 2018 That's right Joe. I keep forgetting about that one. I allways wonder about the criteria for some of these that date all the way back to the previous century. Would one have to prove somehow they gardened in 1886 lets say in order to qualify? Easy maybe to BS your way to that level badge?
--dj--Joe Posted April 29, 2018 Posted April 29, 2018 Robert, If you check out the - Deutsches Kleingärtnermuseum it will give history of the allotment gardens.
BURGERHAUS Posted April 29, 2018 Posted April 29, 2018 Thanks for that Joe. Now to ever get a chance to go there. Hopefully not in my next life.
AlecH Posted April 29, 2018 Posted April 29, 2018 Don, Nice membership book, these memberships books from various organizations go for a couple of euro's and are often disparately looked on by collectors . But they are nevertheless terrifically hard to come across.
Scowen Posted April 30, 2018 Author Posted April 30, 2018 Thank you Gentlemen, I must admit that I was surprised to see it & at a price that I really felt that I could not leave it there... D
Luftsport Posted November 25, 2019 Posted November 25, 2019 Very interesting! I always was thinking about writing a book about small and unknown organisations. I hope to do it someday and i hope i can add the Kleingärtner organisations aswell! Luft

--dj--Joe Posted January 24, 2021 Posted January 24, 2021 Sharp eyes to see that small pin from a photo Don. --dj--Joe
