Chris Boonzaier Posted June 1, 2007 Author Posted June 1, 2007 A photo, probably from 1916 where he is (I think) Vizefeldwebel d.R.Alpenkorps Edelweiss on the cap
Chris Boonzaier Posted June 1, 2007 Author Posted June 1, 2007 From the Tirol fighting in 1915, I think he is the little guy with the ammo pouches. The bread bag straps used to keep them up...
Chris Boonzaier Posted June 1, 2007 Author Posted June 1, 2007 Also probably in the Tirol, him in the middle again....
Chris Boonzaier Posted June 1, 2007 Author Posted June 1, 2007 Not far from here....In 1916 (probably), Taffner and some of the men he was training in the Ersatz Batln.
Chris Boonzaier Posted June 1, 2007 Author Posted June 1, 2007 An NCO in the group.... and idea if that is a silver bravery ribbon?
Chris Boonzaier Posted June 1, 2007 Author Posted June 1, 2007 Too follow is his headgear and award docs etc....watch this space....
Schießplatzmeister Posted June 1, 2007 Posted June 1, 2007 (edited) Hello Chris:Yes, that is a TKM ribbon to be sure! He is also wearing his EK ribbon underneath. If we know the unit and the time that the photo was taken, it may be possible to come up with the name of the recipient.Do you know which company this is?Best regards,"SPM" Edited June 1, 2007 by Schie?platzmeister
Dave Danner Posted June 1, 2007 Posted June 1, 2007 Through the letter "H" I count already 9 Silver Bravery Medals to members of the 2. J?ger-Btl. There might be too many to reasonably narrow it down. I can make a full list of all the 2nd J?ger Bravery Medals, if there isn't already one somewhere, later this evening. Does the battalion history already have a list?

I'd like to find out more about this gentleman as I am a namesake of his. Apparently earned it at Schlacht bei Souchez in 1915. Thanks in advance, Pete Maidhof
