Guest Rick Research Posted June 24, 2007 Posted June 24, 2007 And a perfect example of a retiree wering a "current" uniform when he never SERVED in that uniform. He was "retired with the uniform of..." and like many such officers, seems to have decided that meant he could wear a LATER uniform after his time. On the other hand, other officers went "retro" and had uniforms made up for the old army long afterwards. There's a photo of Wilhelm Heye in a book someplace obviously taken during WW2 with a tailor-approximation of an Imperial uniform (!) that never existed-- sort of a "M1910" without pockets, but with Imperial buttons. So sometimes even the uniforms being worn are...tricks.
Glenn J Posted June 24, 2007 Posted June 24, 2007 Rick, another non regulation Heye oddity worn while still serving in the Reichsherr.RegardsGlenn
Guest Rick Research Posted June 24, 2007 Posted June 24, 2007 I like the added cuffs. No one will notice the color doesn't match...
