Here is the pic of General (Wolf ?) von Kleinitz. During WW14 he was in the F.A.R. Nr. 84. In the RL from 1925 he was Oberst in Reichswehr.

His medal bar contains the following medals :

    EK2

    HHO3X, 24 march 1917

    SA3aX, 26 december 1914

    EfF

    Silesian Eagle 2nd class

    EH3b

    BrH3

    DA

    CM

If someone has more info about him it would be great. He was probably dead before WW2 because I have found nothing from him during WW2

    Christophe,

    that is char. Generalmajor Wolf v. Klewitz: 23 December 1873 - 05 February 1961.

Originally commissioned in FAR 10, he served in FAR 46 from October 1899 until November 1908 when he became the Adjutant of the 20. Feldartillerie-Brigade. In 1914 a battery commander in FAR 84 (since 1 October 1912), he commanded Artillerie-Regiment 1 from 1 February 1927 until retiring on 31 December 1927 when he promoted to char. Generalmajor. He held no command in WW2.

    Regards

    Glenn

And a perfect example of a retiree wering a "current" uniform when he never SERVED in that uniform. He was "retired with the uniform of..." and like many such officers, seems to have decided that meant he could wear a LATER uniform after his time.

On the other hand, other officers went "retro" and had uniforms made up for the old army long afterwards. There's a photo of Wilhelm Heye in a book someplace obviously taken during WW2 with a tailor-approximation of an Imperial uniform (!) that never existed-- sort of a "M1910" without pockets, but with Imperial buttons.

So sometimes even the uniforms being worn are...

    tricks.

    :speechless1::rolleyes:
