Jim Baker Posted November 13, 2005 Posted November 13, 2005 Nice boats guys!! Has anyone built the Revell U Boot in 1/72 yet??I'm thinking of giving that one a go.
Gordon Williamson Posted November 13, 2005 Posted November 13, 2005 Jim,Though it has some faults, the Revell one is pretty good considering the very reasonable price, but I believe that a new version is imminent from them, a Type VIIC/41 with the extended wintergarden and additional Flak armement, should be a winner. There is also a Type XXIII in this scale available which is also very good.
Jim Baker Posted November 13, 2005 Posted November 13, 2005 Hello Gordon,How are you? Do you happen to know the manufacturer of the type XXIII?Thanks
Gordon Williamson Posted November 13, 2005 Posted November 13, 2005 Hi Jim,Here's a link to the kit.http://hsfeatures.com/features04/uboattypexxiiicw_1.htm
Jim Baker Posted November 14, 2005 Posted November 14, 2005 Oh...... Very nice. I hadn't seen that one yet. Thanks for the link.
J Temple-West Posted November 27, 2005 Posted November 27, 2005 "Dust-magnets" this size are a real pain.G, ever thought of having a glass case made for that beauty?
Bob Hunter Posted November 27, 2005 Posted November 27, 2005 ...or plastic which would be less fragile.
Jim Baker Posted November 27, 2005 Posted November 27, 2005 I keep going back and looking at Gordon's sub. It's just awesome. I would also recommend a case of some sort.I'm hoping to get the Revell 1/72 type VII for Christmas. I have a fake EKI and U-Boot Clasp that I'm going to mount on the base.
Bob Hunter Posted December 8, 2005 Posted December 8, 2005 Ralph, I should have asked this question much earlier, what would it take to get you to share your "tobacco leaf" technique?
Ralph A Posted July 16, 2006 Author Posted July 16, 2006 Ralph... share your "tobacco leaf" technique?Quite simple. You must smoke the cigar first, so that the leaf becomes soft and pliable.
