RICK SCHMID Posted August 22, 2005 Author Posted August 22, 2005 i can't seem to spark any intrest. hey guys im asking for some help. does anyone else have a # 27 marked like this?
Bill Garvy Posted August 22, 2005 Posted August 22, 2005 (edited) Rick,I have a maker marked "27" for the firm Anton Schenkl?s Nachfolger, but it sure isn't marked like yours. Those are some unusual double marked pieces you have posted. Of the fifty-one maker marked Iron Crosses in 2nd Class in my modest collection, none are double marked. Frank M Posted August 22, 2005 Posted August 22, 2005 Rick -Although not as extensive as Bill's EK II collection, of my own 32 representative pieces of the same, none of mine are double struck either.Frank
Dave B Posted August 22, 2005 Posted August 22, 2005 In my EK2 collection, none have a double maker mark and that includes the 27.Dave

Well iI guess all will be checking their booty twice, looking for abnormalities. Hope to hear from you Thanks for your speedy response .Rick SchmidAlso please have a look at my other weird double marked #65 love it.
David Robertson Posted September 6, 2005 Posted September 6, 2005 (edited) I have three #27 EKIIs and none of them are double marked. Does any one know when they started Or stopped double marking them? Or why. David Robertson Edited September 6, 2005 by David Robertson

Or why. David Robertson←Dave I don't think these doulbe markings were intentional. I think that they were just a production mistake. However, I'm not sure of the stamping process automated or hand fed into a press. Also the only response regarding double markings on rings was crosses that were dual marked by the same mfg. eg. L # and award #thanks for your intrestRick Schmid
