I love these FA crosses! Be careful-they are very addictive......this one is a very nice example of a wartime awarded "Knauer" piece-could you post some more shots of the case?

Hi Naoki,

As Micha states, that is a nice wartime FA1X.

My understanding on the award boxes for these is that they were a tight fitting square box with a "Crown + FA" in a circle on the outside and the Knauer logo on the inside of the lid.

I think this particular case could have been for any item Kanuer made.

Let's wait for what others have to say though.

Concur with Mike... not the typical award box for 1.kl. kreuz.... that's not to say it wasn't used, but certainly not the typical one we find.

Now for some fun... here's a pair, found within the usual 1.kl. box from Germany

So, bottom line for me would be enjoy your cross.... it probably left Knauer that way.... even if it might have been in another box once upon a time.
