joe campbell
my assessment:#1 is a transitional cross, and probablyearly mid 30's. a nice, relatively unusual cross.#2 is a beauty, and i suspect the PM on the retaining nut is paul meybauer. an unusual postoff the reverse of the cross: possibly a repair.i think both are fine additions to your collection!joe

The first one is a nice probably 30s example. Re the second one, an extremely nice obverse but imo a definitely repaired/replaced screw post. The PM on the DRGM screwdisk definitely stands for Meybauer.RegardsMike
mario
Sorry I do not mean to hijack your topic, but guys please educate me. What is in the Cross 1 that makes you say this is a transitional Cross?
Motorhead
The first one is not an awarded piece in the sense that it is a private purchase. To the time frame-we know that the ugliest crosses where made in the late 1920ies-this one isn't that bad quality, but it doesn't have the style of the veterans pieces made between '39 and '45.
