bifter Posted July 28, 2007 Posted July 28, 2007 Hi!! I have been bidding on an October Rvolution Order on e-bay. I have noticed that it has no rivets on the reverse, & i am concerned as to whether it is a copy or not. The reverse not only has no rivets but it is totally flat; i think that it may be a fake. If it is a fake, it is certainly a good one. If i 'win' this item then i can put it up on my wall. Being a copy it will be good to display; when i get a real one i can put it in my safe. That way i will have a real one in safe keeping & a copy being displayed. Sorry i cannot get a scan of it, but i have yet to work out how to do that. I still cannot use the scanner to post pics of my medals.
Alfred Posted July 28, 2007 Posted July 28, 2007 Bifter, there are two variations of the Order of October Revolution. The first variation has 4 rivets (serial number 1 to ~58.000) and the second variation (serial number ~58.000 to ~112.000) has 5 rivets. Orders without rivets are definitely fakes.regardsAndrea
Eric Gaumann Posted July 29, 2007 Posted July 29, 2007 In my opinion it's not worth spending good money on fakes or "collectors copies".Save your money, do your homework and wait for a good deal to appear.
