Gordon Williamson Posted August 28, 2005 Posted August 28, 2005 Almost certainly just a retailer rather than maker, but the first outer carton I've seen from anyone other than a recognised manufacturer.
Chris Boonzaier Posted October 29, 2005 Posted October 29, 2005 Was that stamped onto the box when it arrived at the Jeweller or does it look as if the box was made that way?
Gordon Williamson Posted October 29, 2005 Author Posted October 29, 2005 Looked to me like it was pre-printed rather than added later. Now here's the really interesting bit. Picked this up from Detlev a couple of weeks back (Just beat Tony to it - Sorry Tony! )
Gordon Williamson Posted October 29, 2005 Author Posted October 29, 2005 Look at the name - Koch, Frankfurt am Main !!!! There is a known 1914 EK2 maker mark "K", so far unidentified. Looks like Koch may be a candidate for this. Thankfully, I have one of these to put in this box. Now if I can just find an original piece ancient tissue to wrap it in, and a nice unused original piece of 1914 ribbon it'd make a nice little set !
Chris Boonzaier Posted October 29, 2005 Posted October 29, 2005 Thats a nice one, did it have an insert of any kind?
joe campbell Posted October 29, 2005 Posted October 29, 2005 it certainly stands to reason that K for Kochis a possibility with this etui in mind...thanks,joe
