Riley1965 Posted September 4, 2007 Posted September 4, 2007 It's the Medal for the 80th Anniversary of Lenin. It's issued by the current Opposition Communist Party. It's not an official Russian Medal. The Opposition Communist Party medals are referred to as "Umalatovas" in referrence to their Party Secretary Umalatova. They have a wide variety of medals with award documents. Some collector's are now only collecting these Orders and Medals. You have a very nice specimen. Doc
Ferdinand Posted September 4, 2007 Posted September 4, 2007 This is the Medal for 80 Years of the VLKSM (better known as Komsomol). It is a so-called 'Umalatova'-decoration, unofficially issued by Umalatova's Party for Peace and Unity. Please have a look here also:- http://gmic.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=8255- http://gmic.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=20823Auke
