Luftwaffe New to badges, are these real?

I'm just now getting into badges, so I thought I would run these by everyone before I start laying out money. In time, I hope to be able to pick out the not-so-obvious fakes. I'll post others in different threads....

Again, the wreath is based on one by 'Assmann' and has the pronounced 'dip'... The eagle is just based on someone's imagination.

Is there a source available that covers what an authentic eagle should look like? The detail on these looks OK, and as a newbie, that's what I focus on. What other features of the eagle gives it away?

The best source, by far, is the forum. The ?search? button will take you to a database of all the makers. Type in the maker you?re looking for and you will find photographic examples all patterns produced during the TR era.

There is also a database of a lot of the fakes that can be found out there.

I think the key for you is to learn what a good piece should look like. Get to know their characteristics and design features then the rest will fall into place.

Ask plently of questions, there will always be someone to help out.
