Manhard DSO 5th FLD. CO. C. E. New Years Honours 1917 (so no citation but corps history might help you), Temporary Captain 18/2/16; Acting Major I9/10/16; Temp. Major 9/10/17; Acting Lt. He sounds like the sort of major industrialist who would have gotten a CBE or knighthood for services to the war effort in WW2, and whose obituary should turn up in some sort of Canadian google-searching.
