Regt History.

I have seen the 220s and 230s.... but so far none on the RIR238.

Does anyone know if it existed? The history I mean.

Eike Mohr in his unit bibliography of unit histories only mentions a small 58 page booklet on the regiment:

Festschrift zum 10. j?hrigen Regimentsjubil?um des Reserve-Infanterie-Regiments 238, Karlsruhe, 1924. So in effect, probably nothing of any substance on the regiment.

Thats a bugger.

I am thinking about buying a Baden bravery medal to a member of the regt... there is no really sexy citation, just along the lines of "Fought well and hard 1914-17.

I was hoping for some mentions of him in the history of the unit. :-(

it exists a history of the RIR 238 from Georg Herbrechtsmeier,

published in 1965. The book is available in the "Zentralbibliothek der

Bundeswehr" in Strausberg.

Hello Chris,

the book has 176 pages and is as detailed as many regimental histories.

I?m interesting in commanding lists of the commanders of the regiment and the battaillons.

Therefore it isn?t very exactly.
