Kev in Deva Posted November 23, 2007 Posted November 23, 2007 Hallo Gents this one is driving me nuts to my eyes at times and depending on the angle it looks like two small fish Kevin in Deva.

frontkampfer Posted November 24, 2007 Posted November 24, 2007 Hello Kevin in Deva !Another "K", what do you think ?RegardsFkr
joe campbell Posted November 24, 2007 Posted November 24, 2007 Hello Kevin in Deva !Another "K", what do you think ?RegardsFkryes, a "K".joe
Guest Rick Research Posted November 24, 2007 Posted November 24, 2007 I don't think so. Too many roundy-globs, not enough V angles. ???
Scott P Posted November 27, 2007 Posted November 27, 2007 Here is a pic of the mm on my cross. Its only a partial mark. But a K mark. When I saw Kens I recognized it right away cause this bothered one me for a while also.mfgScott
Richard Gordon Posted November 27, 2007 Posted November 27, 2007 KevIf you don't think it is a 'K' then I'd suggest comparing the core and frame with the 'K' examples posted before fully discounting it being 'K'.Rich
Kev in Deva Posted November 27, 2007 Author Posted November 27, 2007 Hallo Gentlemen many thanks for ALL, for your great replies, I have been trying to photograph thehallmark in natural day light to aid identification:Kevin in Deva
Kev in Deva Posted November 27, 2007 Author Posted November 27, 2007 I will take some pictures of the cores in daylight tomorrow to see if it leads to any identification:Kevin in Deva.
joe campbell Posted November 27, 2007 Posted November 27, 2007 a vast majority of the "K" MM's i'veseen are quite thin...and there are a SIGNIFICANT # ofMM's that i have labelled as "unreadable".in my limited series of exposures to EK's, i've probably given up on ~5%.core matching may be your best answer.joe
buellmeister Posted November 27, 2007 Posted November 27, 2007 Maybe my eyes are playing tricks on me but I think it looks like a "G" for Godet. The investigation continues.....Joel
Scott P Posted November 28, 2007 Posted November 28, 2007 Heres the front and back of my cross, one thing that I find interesting is.When you look at the medal ring on the reverse, its a tad bit off center to the left. The same as Kens cross.mfgScott
Kev in Deva Posted November 28, 2007 Author Posted November 28, 2007 Hallo Bill, thanks for posting such great pictures While the front looks very similar, on both yours and mine,on the rear of mine, the silver frame is not quite as close to F. W. and the middle oak leaf or the "3" in the "1813" date as on your version.Apart from that its a very good match.Kevin in Deva.
