Chris Boonzaier
Hi,how about seeing some pics of typical Baden bars with the way the Verdienst medal etc are mounted. Do most have the wide metal thing on the back?ThanksChris
Guest Rick Research
Almost none do. You are VERY lucky to find a bar where somebody was smart enough to use anything that kept that stupid Italian style loop from sliding around.
Chris Boonzaier
I must admit that the fully mounted bar is just "en passage" here Chez Moi.I could only afford one so I took the single medal. The Bar goes to someone who owes me muuuuuch beer.....
saschaw
Almost none do.Speaking about WWI, you're pretty right, but the 1870 bars (and as well 1897 era) do have a nice wide hock in most cases. =)
Chris Boonzaier
Sascha, could you show what you consider to be a typical WW1 mount?ThanksChris
saschaw
could you show what you consider to be a typical WW1 mount?Uuuuh, I think there isn't a typical Baden WWI mount. The 1870s are actually very typical, WWI to 30s/40s had it's problems with the "Italian style loop" ... Streibich has an almost nice mounting, but with a nicer one one wouldn't see the stichting around the loop. This could (or should) have been made invisible. It mostly depends on the taylor and his profession ... ;o)
