Paul R Posted December 8, 2007 Posted December 8, 2007 I think that he was a member of the RAD and a decorated Hessian(unless I am mistaken) WW1 vet.

Guest Rick Research Posted December 8, 2007 Posted December 8, 2007 Looks like a first half of the war Hessian Bravery Medal (real silver, not plated alloy). Absence of an Iron Cross indicates either an unexpected "underachiever" orrrrrrra prisoner of war with an "incomplete" war.ALWAYS difficult to find R.A.D. service medals above the 4 years, so your 12 is a prize.
