dond Posted December 11, 2007 Posted December 11, 2007 Not my area of expertise so all opinions are welcome. Thanks in advance.
dond Posted December 12, 2007 Author Posted December 12, 2007 Anybody? I searched the old threads and am still undecided.
Mike Huxley Posted December 12, 2007 Posted December 12, 2007 Don,I've replied on WAF to your inquiry. However I'll post pictures here and list the reasons why I do not like the badge you have shown.Obverse shot of, IMHO a true "Juncker" period badge. Note the quality of the piece. Also that on the badge that you show there is an extra berry on the leaf on the left of the badge level with the background hill. Next point, the crown is under cut behind the top edge of the crown.
Mike Huxley Posted December 12, 2007 Posted December 12, 2007 More important is the reverse. The well that accommodates the hinge attachment should be the shape shown in this picture. The reverse of the cross on the top off the crown should be solid and not cut out as in the picture you have shown. Also the rim of the badge does not correspond with known period badges.
dond Posted December 13, 2007 Author Posted December 13, 2007 Thanks guys, I had surmised as much. I must be learning thru osmosis.
