From what i can see it was koscher in every respect.

I would guess a WW2 vet who was rather miffed he could not wear his medals on his civie suit and had himself this made up so at least the waiters in the Champs could see them when he paid?

While I share Mr Bean's interest in the item (liking multi-national groups), I suspect that most medal collectors will not. For whatever reasons, they will shy away from such pieces -- rather like British medals made into menu holders.

It certainly appears to be a genuine MC and not put together yesterday for the collector's market. How much is a "go with" item like this worth?

Would love to know who they were awarded to. How many French officers had te MC? I assume if the medals could talk.. they would have an interesting tale to tell....

Abbott & Tamplin indicate 1425 Military Cross awards to French officers in WWI.

I suspect that nowhere that many survive as parts of groups, having been stripped off an unnamed group for sale as a single decoration.
