Kurland cufftitle, 13-5-45. signed by the CO of the 5th S.Flott, Lt Comm Herman Holzapfel. The 5 S.Flott was Jan-April 45 based in the Netherlands (Den Helder) and carried out raids in the English Channel (Thames and Humber area). April 45 the unit was transferred to the Baltic (Bornholm, Libau). 8/9-5-45 the unit evacuated military personnel from Courland to the west. Mid-May 45 the boats sailed to Murwik and Flensberg, where they surrendered.'All the best........Peter
