HeikoGrusdat Posted September 24, 2005 Author Posted September 24, 2005 anybody wants to send his colonial things to me - just to give them a home together with their friends.... ???
HeikoGrusdat Posted September 24, 2005 Author Posted September 24, 2005 by the way... @Brian: I love these miniature campaign clasps very much but I would say they are the most rare pieces of colonial medal collecting...... great stuff!!!
HeikoGrusdat Posted September 24, 2005 Author Posted September 24, 2005 Does anybody know a southwest police athlet....
Bob Hunter Posted September 24, 2005 Posted September 24, 2005 I never tire of admiring your collection, Heiko.
Chris Boonzaier Posted February 13, 2009 Posted February 13, 2009 too nice a thread to let it die.... has anyone got anything to add?
Beau Newman Posted February 13, 2009 Posted February 13, 2009 This one came from a dealer from South Africa at an OVMS show several years back.
Beau Newman Posted February 13, 2009 Posted February 13, 2009 I expect that this guy was getting a little long in the tooth by the time he served in China.
HeikoGrusdat Posted February 14, 2009 Author Posted February 14, 2009 very interesting the last chain of Beau - again without any long service award..... is the china medal a combattant one??? makes not really sense at all with MEZ2 AND iron cross..... but we are here to discuss
Beau Newman Posted February 14, 2009 Posted February 14, 2009 It is a combatant medal. I agree that it is odd not to have a LS award on there somewhere. With the War Service Medal, he apparently saw some action.
HeikoGrusdat Posted February 14, 2009 Author Posted February 14, 2009 Beau, the problem is - and please correct me anyone if I am wrong - that the MEZ2 must be for china because in 1870 were no MEZs handed out because of the EK2...which he got - it can`t be for 1866 because there is none of the crosses for 1866 - but it makes no sense to me that someone gets an EK2 1870 and then 30 years nothing to go back in battle on the other side of the world and get a MEZ2.... maybe Bernd has any info about a possible 50+year old someone that got a MEZ2 for China...????????????? I can`t believe it... :(
Guest Rick Research Posted February 14, 2009 Posted February 14, 2009 Heiko-- do you still HAVE any of these after your robbery? I have the owners' names for these:but there is no point in posting free information for Turkish thieves. :violent:
HeikoGrusdat Posted February 14, 2009 Author Posted February 14, 2009 Rick - short and sad answer..... NO perhaps you can pm me the names to be prepared in case of a collection resurrection..........
Guest Rick Research Posted February 14, 2009 Posted February 14, 2009  Understand people that CRIMINALS STOLE THESE out of Heiko's house.
--dj--Joe Posted February 14, 2009 Posted February 14, 2009 I am sorry to read of the theft. I hope no one was harmed. I wish for a safe return of the items and a fitting end to the thiefs.--dj--Joe
