Chris Boonzaier Posted March 1, 2008 Posted March 1, 2008 Very unusual to find stamped bayonets this late in the war, maybe because it was such a small unit...A nice find from yesterday....
Chip Posted March 1, 2008 Posted March 1, 2008 (edited) Very nice markings Chris! Here are some shoulder straps that the enlisted men would have worn. Prussian on the left and Bavarian on the right.Chip Edited March 1, 2008 by Chip
Thomas Posted March 3, 2008 Posted March 3, 2008 Very nice markings Chris! Here are some shoulder straps that the enlisted men would have worn. Prussian on the left and Bavarian on the right. ChipDid you see these? http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...em=280204980985 They are blue backed though?
Chip Posted March 4, 2008 Posted March 4, 2008 Thomas,These are all fakes. The winged shell insignia are glued on and the numbers are fashioned from cord, rather than being chain stitched. They look great from a distance, but they are reproductions. Of course, the backing on a M15 should be feldgrau, graugr?n or residagr?n (badge cloth).Chip
Chris Boonzaier Posted July 31, 2012 Author Posted July 31, 2012 Just picked up another Flak Stamped bayonet... I wonder if it was only the pocket sized units that still stamped bayonets late in the war?
Chris Boonzaier Posted November 28, 2013 Author Posted November 28, 2013 Does anyone know what this one is??
E Williams Posted November 28, 2013 Posted November 28, 2013 2 Eisenbahn Regt 1st Kompany Bayonet #206 The 55 is something that the unit added that was maybe the last two of the rifle ser no#
Hoss Posted November 29, 2013 Posted November 29, 2013 Chris That initial posted bayonet needs a loving home. Christmas jingle bells and all that nice stuff...
