Chris Boonzaier Posted September 25, 2005 Posted September 25, 2005 Can anyone make head or tail of what unit this could be.....A very hard to read stamp at the top looks to read "2. St.A.B?tzb???" which I think is 2. St.A.B?tzbach which is not far from here. Below is what looks to be L.Esc. (Leichte Escadron?) and then 2 bars which may be the "II" for class of service.
Chris Boonzaier Posted September 25, 2005 Author Posted September 25, 2005 Butzbach or B?tzbach, both spellings seem to go.Tom... can you post your pics here? I have spent about half an hour and still cannot open the fkng things :-(

Tom Y Posted September 26, 2005 Posted September 26, 2005 And finally, a better view of the front. From the lack of markings we can assume this is private purchase, so there may be some slight differences. I seem to remember that the Bavarian Mantel has 2 buttons on the back belt and a different number, either 3 or 5, in the vent. There are 16 more views in the zip if you can get it to open.
Chris Boonzaier Posted September 26, 2005 Author Posted September 26, 2005 Thanks, there are a number of points there that reassure me.P.S. What are all those impressive looking books in the last photoP.P.S. I have never managed to open one of them ZIP things in my life !
Chris Boonzaier Posted September 26, 2005 Author Posted September 26, 2005 My one has domed silver buttons... are these replacement or early ?bestChris
