German Uniform ID Needed - Weimar?

Got this postcard as a freebie from TomY.

Since German uniforms are not my area of expertise, I would appreciate some expert identification.

Something about the uniform makes me think it's post 1918 and pre 1939.

You may be correct. It certainly looks like a Wiemar era uniform. If there is a black Weimar style eagle in the wreath then that is the correct period for this photo. Here is a picture, but not a very good one because I had to crop it from a small picture in a book, that should give you an idea of what tou are looking for on the cap.

Reichsheer indeed, probably after 1923 (when they got uniforms sorted out). Rank of Obergefreiter. If you can zoom in on the straps, that will reveal regiment.

Thanks all, will have to get the lens out.

Lens out and returned. Definitely an eagle on the cap badge, but the shoulders are turned at an angle so that nothing is visible.
