lach470 Posted April 5, 2008 Posted April 5, 2008 Hey gang! Here's my mintiest RAD buckle! It's in great shape and I'm happy to have acquired this one last week! Obviously unissued as there are no wear marks....Here are some pics...It's made by JFS...not as common a RAD maker as others I think - or maybe it's because I've just never seen another RAD buckle made by this well known buckle maker!Cheers!Rob
lach470 Posted April 5, 2008 Author Posted April 5, 2008 Here's a close up of the Maker mark and year of manufacture!Cheers gang!Rob
lach470 Posted April 5, 2008 Author Posted April 5, 2008 And last one....here's the leather stamp on the tab....Cheers!Rob
Ben Posted April 5, 2008 Posted April 5, 2008 Rob, what a super buckle, and you are correct, you do not see many RAD buckles around made by JFS, I think that the RAD buckle is a very underated buckle, I love them
lach470 Posted April 5, 2008 Author Posted April 5, 2008 Hi Ben! Thanks buddy....Glad you like it! It's a welcome addition to the collection. Though I mainly enjoy pieces with "character" - that show wear and the possibility of seeing action, I couldn't pass up this example.Cheers!Rob
nesredep Posted April 5, 2008 Posted April 5, 2008 And last one....here's the leather stamp on the tab....Cheers!RobHello!Stunning quality, congratulation. All the best Nesredep

buellmeister Posted April 6, 2008 Posted April 6, 2008 Rob, You can't find one in any better condition than that one my friend! Well Done. I have to agree with Ben on his comment of these being as underestimated as they are.. They are one of the nicer looking TR Buckles in my book.Regards,Joel

Paul R Posted April 8, 2008 Posted April 8, 2008 Congrats Rob!! I am sure that it is one of your centerpieces. Are there any organizations you are missing?
lach470 Posted April 8, 2008 Author Posted April 8, 2008 I think I've got most organizations covered. There are still a few that I don't have. One buckle that I've been after for a while is the NPEA Studentbund buckle. Just can't find any for sale anywhere! The hunt continues! Cheers man!Rob
Ben Posted April 8, 2008 Posted April 8, 2008 Paul, this is a studentbund buckle, they only did them in Aluminium, most of the fakes are made of steel so straight away you know they are bad if it says steel
Paul R Posted April 8, 2008 Posted April 8, 2008 RearWOW! I have never seen such a buckle. You should start a thread on this, as I do not want to ruin Rob's thread.
lach470 Posted April 8, 2008 Author Posted April 8, 2008 No worries Paul.....Ben loves to make me drool! Killer buckle Ben - I need to trade off some Heer buckles and get that one off you! hahahahaThanks for posting! Cheers!Rob
Ben Posted April 8, 2008 Posted April 8, 2008 (edited) Hi Rob, its only a picture from my databank, I only collect Heer buckles now (apart from a 43 dated Water Police and a rare Tunnerbund), but they are around my friend, just expensive, I have a couple of buckles en route, I will post them when they arrive Edited April 9, 2008 by Ben
lach470 Posted April 8, 2008 Author Posted April 8, 2008 Damn.....hahahaha...Just kidding. Thought you might still have some "non-Heer" buckles. The hunt continues! Looking forward to seeing your new buckles!Cheers!Rob
