It looks like he rose through the ranks, with a mix of enlisted and officer level awards. The Tsarist Russian Zeal Medal around the neck is really weird looking, isn't it? Ya now, I've noticed many photos of officers, even colonels, show both enlisted and officer mox of the Bravery Order and the Bravery medal. He has many grade of the Bravery medal/order.Question,what determine the grade of the order? Was it rank or was it similar to the French Legion of Honor where a person received a higher grade each time they were awarded the same order?
