Both compass and case are stamped with the Iraqi Army insignia and were recovered from an Iraqi Training base during Operation Iraqi Freedom I. This compass was supplied to the Iraqi Army by the British, most likely prior to the Iran-Iraq war and is very rare and collectable. This M-73 is a robust, precision instrument of aluminum, glass, and (predominantly) brass construction. Like all Francis Barker compasses, it is designed to withstand even the most extreme climates or conditions and is said to be the finest handheld military compass in the world. Poster is 12" by 19" and printed on heavy mat paper. Not sure what writing translates to. Item is in good with no tears and little wear. I called them a month ago and told them that there was an Iraqi dealer who had a few for sell.. I asked one of the members of SA if the badges were for sell to the public and a little history behind it.. He told me that I was not able to buy them from him and that they were special made badges from an agent to give them to the Iraqi EOD Firefighter Chief to issue them to his fire fighters. Each badge is number I am not sure of how many wore made. I was Told that they would have cost 75.00 each, this one I only paid $28.00 for it.. Lorenzo Edited February 17, 2010 by IMHF
