Eric Stahlhut Posted July 1, 2008 Author Posted July 1, 2008 inside of pin has something scratched into it...
Stogieman Posted July 1, 2008 Posted July 1, 2008 That's an interesting cross Eric... from the photo of the pin, it looks to my eyes like someone buffed out a mark and then stamped the G into the pin???
Eric Stahlhut Posted July 1, 2008 Author Posted July 1, 2008 hiya rick, it kinda looks that way to me as well--but why on earth would someone do that? relabeling for resale because someone bought up a batch of them? i dunno...part of the wierd effect is from me rubbing the pin to get some of the tarnish off, tho
Harrier Posted July 1, 2008 Posted July 1, 2008 Don't tell me the reverse of the pin says "Richtofen"...........................??
Eric Stahlhut Posted July 1, 2008 Author Posted July 1, 2008 haha! nope--first word seems to be 'Richter'...
Motorhead Posted July 2, 2008 Posted July 2, 2008 That's a very interesting piece-not only that it's the first "G" stamped EK I see where the stamp isn't stamped in a propper way(it's definitely a G,core and pin are matching)-it has also the halfmoon and the crown.Very unusual, especially on a "G" marked cross......but anyway-I wouldn't have a problem to add this croos to my collection! And the private purchased case......full score!Micha
