censlenov
Hello HolgerI'm interested in this cross not because i know much about German militaria but because the crown is very similar to one on my Order of Red Eagle 4th Class seen here: http://gmic.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=31278The beads on my order are also indented not protruding. Can you give me an idea why this is?CheersChris
Holger
Hello censlenov, better don't look for a deeper sense, there isn't. Also my EK is a jeweler's work, not casted and not from a mint, made in limited numbers on special ( in my opinion private) order. There are some other EK-crowns, which are really different from the Prussian crown, like this-one. Here should be made an investigation, what the manufacturer had in mind. Eric Stahlhut
hallo holger, that is indeed a very special cross! years ago, one of the major german internet dealers had a 2nd class example complete with case. the cross had damage to the glass core, but interestingly the case was marked to a (royal) jeweler in dresden. a clue, perhaps?i attempted to obtain the cross, but i was not quick enough and unfortunately the images that i saved of this item are long gone.
