All Available Gnomes are FULLY engaged on 1914-18. Have been, some of us, for what is now going on 30 years. Will most likley take the rest of THIS decade, as well--

    collectively.

DO let us know if you find ANYBODY anywhere slaving over the unfathomably vaster endless work of decades after decades after decades after decades of peacetime awards.

    :cheeky:

So I guess you don't know anybody currently working on peacetime orders. (Although I would like to consider myself one for doing the (pre-)imperial kurhessians) I do know that the peacetime data is available at the archive in M?nich, so I was hoping someone was working them already. However I don't know if the number of war awards (which include several thousands per medal e.g. for the hanseatics) of the 4 year differ wildly with the number of awards for the peacetime era?

The rolls of the Bavarian Military Merit Order, 1866 - 1922, will be published next year.

    Hi Bernd

That is great!! Will the publication be announced via this board? What will the estimate price be? will it give full date and name of the recipient (or even more??) I am very happy to see that there is some progress in describing not just the WWI ODM (which are invaluable to collectors) but also the pre war and even pre-empirial ODM (which are really interesting to some kind of history freaks.....like me  )

    regards

    David
