Henry 24th Posted November 18, 2008 Posted November 18, 2008 (edited) OK, so I have seen the debates back and forth regarding the Memmel medal in these two and other threads:http://gmic.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=2762&st=0http://gmic.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=30589&hl=memelI have come to understand that pretty much every medal out there is fake. And so with this in mind I ask the forum to please weigh in on this one as well.I have had it for many years and always had it tucked away believing maybe it was real but accepting it most likely not to be. The wreath is rather hideous and unflattering compared to other makers. Also the ribbon is quite faded. Then Uwe (Speedytop) posted this image of different makers variations. Please note the von Hessenthal/Schreiber 1940 versionAny thoughts? Please help... Edited November 19, 2008 by Henry 24th

James Clark Posted November 20, 2008 Posted November 20, 2008 Very good! I'd like to see the back of the Sudetenland medal (next to another one, if you have one) - the writing looks very big!James
Henry 24th Posted November 20, 2008 Author Posted November 20, 2008 Hello James.I will scan it in this evening along with a few EK 2'sKind Regards.Henry
Henry 24th Posted November 21, 2008 Author Posted November 21, 2008 Mr Clark, As requested, Reverse side of the 1938 Sudetenland medal.RegardsHenry
James Clark Posted November 22, 2008 Posted November 22, 2008 Thanks for the extra picture. The perspective is different now, and the colour doesn't look quite so bright as in the first pictures. This version is more gold coloured than the normal bronze and the ones I've seen like this are also a little bit thinner than normal. I think that this is an accepted variant.Regards,James
