Rosenberg Posted November 16, 2005 Posted November 16, 2005 Hi,I would like to show you my favourite one.I like it?s plain and decent style.I assume this was one of a series, can anyone give more info on that?
Rosenberg Posted November 16, 2005 Author Posted November 16, 2005 I don?t believe it to be a Reservisten stein,I think it is private purchase...
Rosenberg Posted November 16, 2005 Author Posted November 16, 2005 maybe someone can determine the age by the MM....

Stogieman Posted November 17, 2005 Posted November 17, 2005 Greetings Rosenberg. This one is much more in line of what I think of when I look for these regimental/reservist pieces. Very nice! Thanks for bringing it here!
Rendsburg Posted November 17, 2005 Posted November 17, 2005 (edited) Hi Rosenberg,A friend told me that the stein was made in 1894, see the two digits lower right, 94, so it was made in 1894.Otto Edited November 17, 2005 by Rendsburg
Rosenberg Posted November 17, 2005 Author Posted November 17, 2005 Thanks a lot guys!Unfortunately I had to see mine is missing a top lid,but somehow I like it better this way.I had not known they made such fantastic pieces.@stogieman: Now I understand your railway scepticism This style is something different and of course a bit elder. When I saw the others of this style I have seen a lot of stuff for my wish-u-were here listCheers
Stogieman Posted November 17, 2005 Posted November 17, 2005 My Favorite one of these is from a W?rttemberg Dragoons regiment. It has been sitting in the display case at a shop owned by a friend for almost 11 years. Another friend made a deposit and has been slowly "chipping away" at his balance. it wasn't much $$, but he has had some setbacks in his life. It was mint mint minty fresh and my only regret is I did not get there before the other guy!
Rendsburg Posted November 17, 2005 Posted November 17, 2005 Here's the top of mine.OttoUnfortunately, a have bought as original, but it's a copy, anyway, I like.Otto
Chip Posted November 18, 2005 Posted November 18, 2005 Otto,I don't think your friend knows very much about steins! Can you show us what the body of the stein looks like?Chip
