    What medals are these?

"Nalaikh" means to be quiet, calm or at peace....

"Jil" means years....so 10 or 40 years or something... but I haven't found the badge yet.....

It's a NIB but I get the feeling it might have a buddhist relationship in some way... the at peace bit with the Book at the bottom...

    Anyway it's a theory...

    Cheers

Fair enough but that's still what it means.

Fair enough (again), but place names -- like personal names -- should escape mechanical and literal translation. Would we really want to talk about the "Order of Ax Hero"?!

"NALAIKH" - This small city is in 30 km from Ulan Bator on the east. Earlier there there were Soviet armies.

I think that 2nd badge is devoted 40 years Ten years' school in Nalajhe.

Fair enough ( once more), but since none of us actually speak Mongolian, I thought I would contribute as best I could....

I shall refrain in future from contributing to threads such as these, to save you the collective bother of having to post corrections.
