Ed_Haynes
They are pretty things. A shame that (like the DSO) they aren't named. And, absent SOLID provenence, most of those MCs you see "named" are, I suspect, later inventions by silly collector sorts. James Hoard
I know the feeling, in 1962 I bought a Great War George V DFC for $15.00. Gunner 1Don't know if this will make you feel 'good' or 'bad'.Using latest available figures (2007) $15.00 from 1962 is worth: $102.78 using the Consumer Price Index $83.32 using the GDP deflator $128.37 using the value of consumer bundle $114.71 using the unskilled wage $218.67 using the nominal GDP per capita $353.68 using the relative share of GDP Cheers,James
Ulsterman
Great piece. Most were hard won indeed.Yeah-but back in 1962, $15 was half a days' wages for most folks in the USA.

The 1884-86 Khedive's Star I bought with it was $12.
Ulsterman
well, I remember the summer of '73 well. Have you seen "Life On Mars"? I bought a Bavarian artillery pickle in horrible shape for $5-which was two lawns' worth of effort (with a push mower)!
