    how were these shoulder boards attached?

    Not quite sure about the elastic suspender ( :speechless1: ) there, but the long hook slid into a "tunnel" under a slit for the neck end button on the shoulder of the tunic. There should be said button permanently affixed topside on the board.

    The ones I have seen have a regular tongue apparently slid under the fore-and-aft bullion strip that was also used for banjo shaped dress boards and "locked" by sliding the long hook through the hole at the neck end of the tongue.

    Not always a shoulder end strip--sometimes just the "banjo" fore and aft was it.

    Never seen "suspenders" before.

    What's the top?
