Deruelle Posted June 30, 2009 Posted June 30, 2009 Hi Heiko, Very nice photo you have. The Brunswick commander cross with star is so nice. Do you identify this man ?Christophe
Mike Dwyer Posted July 1, 2009 Posted July 1, 2009 Fantastic! Too bad they didn't have color photography back then. I love Henry the Lion!! :jumping:
Guest Rick Research Posted July 1, 2009 Posted July 1, 2009 Ahhh, too bad there is no Rank List for civilians! He must have retired as a full Oberst from his medal bar combination... but don't know that he might not have gone up the Brunswick classes or gotten this as a "one off" AFTER leaving the service.Even a YEAR imprinted on the image might be a valuable clue.
HeikoGrusdat Posted July 1, 2009 Author Posted July 1, 2009 ........unfortunately no year or any further usefull information on the card, sorry....
Daniel Krause Posted July 2, 2009 Posted July 2, 2009 fascinating pic!!!!!That guy did not make General. I checked all and nobody fits.I would guess he retired as half- or full colonel and went in some Brunswick connection, maybe Kammerherr or so.The Lion Grand Commander indicates a rank equivalent of MajGen or Rat 1.Klasse.Brunswick court and state handbooks might ID him.Best regardsDaniel
