I have a picture of my Great Uncle Archy wearing one on guard duty in the fall/winter of 1918 in France, so they were worn in the field. They were also reissued in WW2 to a limited degree. jjdevi1 Posted October 22, 2009 Posted October 22, 2009 (edited) The photo postcard was done December 4.1918 at Camp Lacey France. Here is the back. John Edited October 22, 2009 by jjdevi1
jjdevi1 Posted October 22, 2009 Posted October 22, 2009 George, There were a lot of this left over in surplus, at one time, they were common. The supply has pretty much been spread out in the collector community. Ballpark figure on this can run anywhere between 40-60 dollars. John
